Tea Tree is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia, where it has been part of indigenous tradition for centuries. Australian Aboriginal communities are known to have used the crushed leaves of the Melaleuca tree for generations - inhaling the vapours and applying poultices from the leaves as part of their traditional practices.

The name "Tea Tree" is thought to originate from early settlers who infused the leaves to make a herbal tea. By the 1920s and 1930s, the essential oil began gaining recognition in Europe for its unique natural properties, and today it is one of the most widely recognised and used essential oils in personal care worldwide.
