Petitgrain  is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree Each part of the tree yields a distinctly different oil, and Petitgrain is the clean, green, woody expression of this versatile botanical.

The name Petitgrain — meaning "little grain" in French originating from an earlier time when the oil was distilled from the tiny unripe fruits of the tree rather than the leaves. Today it is the leaves and twigs that are used, producing an oil that has long been a staple of fine perfumery. It lends a fresh, herbaceous quality to body sprays, colognes, and fragrances, and is popular across both masculine and feminine scent profiles.
