About Melatonin

Low Melatonin levels can result in poor sleep patterns, disruption of the menstrual cycle, low mood, irritability, and poor concentration.

Melatonin is a small hormone released by our brain’s pineal gland. Its release and synthesis are stimulated by darkness, and light suppresses it.

Melatonin's function is to set our “sleep-wake cycles” and for keeping our body's Circadian Rhythm. Our circadian rhythm (or body clock) runs on a 24-hour schedule and plays a significant part in when we fall asleep and wake up. Regulating our internal clock is essential for dealing with sleep issues.

Melatonin supports sleep onset and quality of sleep and increased REM (Rapid Eye Movement) time, deep sleep and dreaming. Better quality sleep produces greater mental, physical and emotional rejuvenation.

Melatonin also has strong propertiesto help support immune system strength. Its free-radical fighting capacity is 6 to 10 times more potent than Vitamin E and can enter the mitochondria to protect it from free radical damage.

When sunlight levels are insufficient for the pineal gland, Melatonin production decreases and may cause low mood in some individuals. Supplementing can support mood balance seasonally or in times of low mood.

Manufacturer's Recommendations
Hold nozzle 1 inch from the mouth, spray twice and swallow, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

NOTE: Consider beginning with a small dose - 0.25mg or 0.5mg increasing from there. WARNING:
This product should not be taken by adolescents, pregnant or lactating women, persons taking cortisone, or persons with kidney disease. Melatonin Spray might affect your sleep-wake cycle so avoid consuming it with caffeine or alcohol. These can interfere with your circadian rhythm and your natural Melatonin production. Birth control pills might cause your body to begin creating more Melatonin, so taking a supplement could push your levels into an unhealthy range. You should also avoid taking Melatonin if you take corticosteroids to suppress your immune response for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
